The basics, covered.

What do you build on?

Custom build or Elementor. How do you decide?

It comes down to who’s editing the site afterwards and what it needs to do.

Elementor gives a non-technical team a lot of freedom to rearrange pages themselves. A custom theme gives tighter performance, cleaner code and a more controlled editing experience, with less room for someone to accidentally dismantle a layout. For a straightforward brochure site, the cost gap is narrower than most people expect, so it’s rarely the deciding factor. We’ll recommend based on your team rather than our preference.

Can our team update the site ourselves?

Do you work with our existing developers?

Honestly, no. Every development team has its own conventions, tooling and standards, and splitting one build across two of them tends to produce a codebase neither side wants to own.

If you have an in-house team, we’re far more useful taking a defined piece of work end to end than sharing a repository. We’d rather say that now than discover it three months in.

Who owns the code?

The site we build for you is yours. We’d rather earn the next project than rely on you being unable to leave.

What stays with us is the toolkit underneath: the frameworks, components and methods we’ve built up across projects, none of it specific to yours.

The one place to be careful is design systems. A UI language created for one product is licensed for that product. If the plan is to build several more off the same system, that’s a different piece of work and a better conversation to have at the start than after the third one ships.

Do you build accessible websites?

We build towards WCAG AA as standard. If you need to meet something more specific, tell us before we scope it. Accessibility shapes design decisions as much as build decisions, and retrofitting it costs considerably more than building for it.

Two honest limits. On design-only projects, accessibility testing sits outside our scope unless we’ve agreed otherwise upfront. And once you’ve signed off and the warranty period has closed, later changes to content, plugins or templates can affect accessibility in ways we can’t stand behind. Keep us involved and we’ll keep watching it.

Can you take over a site someone else built?

Sometimes, and never sight unseen. We’d start with a paid technical audit to find out what’s actually in there.

Taking on someone else’s build means taking on every decision they made, including the ones nobody documented. We’re not willing to put our name on that without looking properly first. If the audit says rebuild, we’ll show you the reasoning rather than just assert it. If it says the site is sound, we’ll happily take it on.

What happens after launch?

There’s a 30-day warranty period once you’ve accepted the build. Anything not working to the agreed specification in that window we fix at our cost, provided we’re hosting the site; we can only stand behind an environment we control.

After that, most teams move onto one of our hosting packages, so the people watching the site are the ones who built it.
