Gazelle

  • Illustration

Gazelle came back to music after ten years away, and the single needed artwork with more behind it than a cover. We drew South Africa’s nine provinces as nine fictional scenes, each one set at a real location, each one answering Pierneef’s 1929 Station Panels and the version of the country they fixed in place. Eleven prints, a gallery show in Cape Town, and a visualiser for “Postcards from Paradise”. Every scene carries a QR code that drops you at the spot on a map.
